Educational & Community Outreach
|
The Education and Personal Development Small Learning Community provides students at Taft High School with the opportunity to excel in all standards-based learning experience and participate in community outreach programs related to education and personal development. Their focus is to provide an educational environment where students develop attitudes, beliefs, and values that contribute to their personal development. To provide students with opportunities to become involved in their community, so that they can realize that one of the ways they will grow as students and individuals is by helping others. All students participating in ECO small learning community are required to volunteer their time and talent to local organizations in their community during each of their four years at Taft. This will give each student the opportunity to develop their work and interpersonal skills. All students are expected to engage in community services, off site, with agencies that welcome young people and are willing to provide them with valuable experiences. Service Hour Requirements
