HUMANITAS: A Community of Scholars
Welcome to your high school adventure! The Humanitas Academy for the Liberal Arts, a proud Taft community since 1993, provides a college-bound humanities program and a tight-knit support system of students and teachers. We work together to make connections between literature, film, history, art and science, preparing students to succeed in college and in life.
The Humanitas Academy offers:
• Project-based, cooperative learning in addition to traditional teacher practices
• A focus on Media Arts and Production – the only film making program at Taft – teaching a foundation of skills in using the Internet, photography and video production.
• An investigation into the deeper meaning of history and politics, from ancient civilizations to modern day events
• Regular Field Trips, integrated into the curriculum
If you are college-bound and looking for a small learning community that welcomes diversity and recognizes one size does not fit all, then join Humanitas!
