AP & Honors Application for Fall 2018

All freshmen, sophomores and juniors need to submit one application for next year's AP & Honors classes through the link tinyurl.com/APhonorsapplication-fall2018. All students must submit the application by March 2, 2018 to be considered for Fall 2018 classes. Please see the attached files to review each department's recommended criteria for their AP and Honors courses.

SAS APPLICATION AT TAFT CHARTER HIGH SCHOOL FOR 2018-2019 BEGINS FEBRUARY 1, 2018

Applications are now available for the School of Advanced Studies (SAS) Program at Taft Charter High School for 2018-2019 beginning February 1, 2018. Please attach a copy of the fall semester report card, the most current spring semester report card and a transcript with test scores to the application. The deadline to turn in the SAS application to the Counseling Office is April 27, 2018. Incomplete applications will not be processed. If you do not live within the Taft attendance boundaries, you must apply to attend Taft through the Open Enrollment program first. Open Enrollment applications are available for download as well as in the Attendance Office.

Late Applications for the Gifted STEAM Magnet Program is now available starting February 1, 2018 (Click Here to Apply)

The 2018-2019 Late Application is now open beginning February 1, 2018. Parents interested in applying as a late applicant may do so through the echoices.lausd.net website or the paper application found in the choices brochure. Please select Late Application Process 2018-2019 to apply.

College Night for Freshmen and Sophomores (Click Here to Register)

All freshmen, sophomores and their families are invited to attend our College Night on February 15, 2018 in Taft Hall from 6PM-8PM. Two presenters will share information on the UC/CSU/Private school applications, PSAT/SAT/ACT testing, course preparations, and financial aid. School Campus Tours: Click Here to Reserve Space

Taft Charter High School will be offering campus tours which will feature various programs on campus, including the SAS (Individualized Honors, Traditional Honors and Academic Enrichment) and Humanitas programs. All school campus tours will meet in the Library at 8:30AM on the following dates:

Taft Charter visits "Hamilton" at the Pantages Theater. Taft student performs on stage.

This past Thursday, Several of our classes had the opportunity to visit "Hamilton" at the Pantages Theater. Students were able to learn what goes into a major theater production, and were able to relate to the historical context that was previously instructed in the classroom by watching a performance.

In addition, one of our students Bita Aghaee was selected to perform on stage prior to the performance. Bita was one of 13 LAUSD Students that performed out of 38 schools. Click on this article to see the video of Bita's performance.
