About Me

I am a product of LAUSD. I attended high school on a college campus, so I got the best of both worlds. During my time in high school, I was part of almost every extracurricular my school had to offer: CSF, Drama Club, ASB Leadership, Class Leadership, Academic Decathlon, and Speech & Debate, just to name a few. Upon graduating from high school, I went straight to UCLA where I earned my Bachelor's degree. While at UCLA, I volunteered in and ran many organizations such as Bearing Witness, JLIC, peer mentoring, and event coordinating. In addition, with a passion for helping neurotypical teenagers thrive in inclusive environments, I volunteered a great amount of time at The Help Group in Valley Glen. Upon graduating UCLA, I then spent a few years at Portola Middle School working as a resource assistant/behavior support and intervention service provider. With a passion for working in education, I then joined LAUSD’s District Intern Program where I earned my Mathematics Credential. During this time, I served as one of the 2 math teachers in the Humanitas Magnet for Interdisciplinary Studies at Grant High School where I enjoyed collaborating and supporting students as individuals. My yearning to go back and work with my previous students, along with my mother’s former students (my mother is an AIAT staff member and helped start the Academy at Portola Middle School), brought me to Taft in Fall of 2022. I love being at Taft! I really enjoy getting to know my students as individuals and teaching math in ways that make sense to them. I also work hard to help my students become the best version of themselves. I currently sponsor Class of 2027 and Habitat for Humanity Club.
